A little about us...
The e. scott originals team makes all our jewelry in our little brick and mortar shop located at 199b Highland Ave. in Somerville, MA. (Take a tour thanks to the North Bennet Street School Blog)
e. scott originals specializes in handmade, original jewelry inspired by urban life and mother nature. Collections range from everyday staples to artistic adornments, but all pieces are meant to be worn daily and loved forever.
We create the new heirloom.
With training from the North Bennet Street School in Boston, MA owner, designer and bench jeweler Emily Scott Surette blends a mix of strong technical, old-world skills with a creative brain to create collections full of interest and intrigue, made to last a lifetime and beyond.
The precious metals used in the shop are recycled and Emily seeks to use antique stones whenever possible, so as not to promote new mining. When not possible, she makes sure the stones are ethically sourced and of great quality, from reputable dealers who follow the Kimberly Process.
Every piece is made in her studio, by hand, giving each one a truly unique look and feel so no two items are exactly the same.
We believe in the beauty of handmade.

Client kind words...
"I wanted to share a cute story from my office today. I work with Lauren and we noted that we're wearing similar necklaces today (our ring catchers with our first initial stamped). We eventually found out that we both went to you for our custom engagement and wedding bands and immediately threw out our hands to look at each other's rings (hers is gorgeous, by the way!). We chatted for a few minutes about how much we love working with you, how unique and beautiful your jewelry is, and that we both enjoy playing with Mayble each time we come by the shop. KT and I can't wait to wear our wedding bands forever starting in 2 short weeks and to design our anniversary rings with you later in the year". -Becky (2017)
"I just wanted to let you know that we LOVE our rings!! I can't wait to wear mine every day - it matches my heirloom ring so perfectly while still being contemporary." - Marisa & Ben (2017)
"I received my ring as promised but even more beautiful than I imagined. The transaction from start to finish was delightful because of Emily's honesty, attention to detail and specialized attention. I felt like a princess." -Beverly (2017)
"It turned out so beautifully and the process of working with her was really wonderful. I came in with a very vague idea of what I might like and she expertly guided me through the process of choosing a design and a stone. She is super easy to work with and I could not be happier with the outcome! I was worried about the cost of a custom ring, but she was very helpful with being budget conscious while also showing me a lot of options." -Ali (2016)
"She makes everyone feel important, responds quickly to requests, and the quality of her jewelry is unmatched!" -Rebecca (2016)
"She was super helpful, answered any questions I had and gave advice when we needed it. She made me feel really comfortable (I don't wear a lot of jewelry so I wasn't quite sure what I wanted) and I felt like she really understood what I was looking for without ever being pushy. She did our wedding bands as well and they came out great."- Libby (2015)
"We wandered into Emily's lovely shop on a whim the day after my husband proposed, just to think about rings. Twenty minutes of consultation later, we knew we'd found the person to make my engagement ring and our wedding rings. Emily was so accomodating, friendly, and clearly enthusiastic about custom projects. The rings we got were more beautiful than we could have expected..."- Liza & Ben (2013)
"I get compliments on it literally every day and I feel like I love it more every time I look at it and I tell its story. It means so much to us that you helped us to incorporate our ideas into it and that it's literally one of a kind (and that it was little bit more ethically sourced diamond with some history to it)."- Steph (2012)
